How much do day opportunities at Sherratts Wood cost?
Answer
The support we provide is as individual as you are, but as a guide the typical costs for accessing the day opportunity start from £8.30 per hour. Any extra support can be provided from an additional £3.50 per hour for shared support and up to £14 per hour for one to one, which is delivered by our own highly qualified staff. Transport is also provided from £10 per day and a home cooked hot meal is available each day for £4.

Can I get help with funding for day opportunities?
Answer
If you’re eligible for direct payments or personalised care and health budget, yes. You simply need to speak to your social worker or GP, and ask them to refer you. They’ll fill in a form which allows you to use your payments for Sherratts Wood activities.

Can I visit Sherratts Wood if I don’t have a care need?
Answer
Yes. If you feel you could benefit from the wide range of therapeutic activities on offer, then you’re welcome to make a booking. Regardless of your background, we welcome all to enjoy the company of other like-minded people, encouraging you to learn new skills, and enjoy reconnecting with the natural environment.

No. Visits can be arranged by appointment only.

What happens if it rains?
Answer
You might get wet, but we just have more fun! At all our venues we have indoor space where we can dry off and enjoy different activities indoors.

In order to keep everyone safe we have a strict set of conduct rules at each venue.

How do I make a booking?

How do we get there and can we go to the other venues?
Answer
You can organise your own transport, use public transport or arrange to be collected by one of our own minibuses to get to our venues. Once there our minibuses will transport you between our venues. This service operates legally and safely under Section 19 permits, awarded by VOSA.

What if I need additional support?
Answer
We provide high quality in-house staff who will help to motivate and guide, and who will also provided dignified personal care when needed.
Question
Are all our staff qualified?
Answer
All our staff hold or are working towards NVQ2 or higher in health and social care. All are health and safety, food safety and rescue meds trained. Plus we will put in place training for any specific customer needs. Some of our staff are also PETALS qualified.
